SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Sunnyvale Community Center has been certified as a Green Business by the Santa Clara County Green Business Program. The center will be honored alongside other Sunnyvale green businesses, including Environmental and Occupational Risk Management, Juniper Networks, Sunnyvale Ford, Sunnyvale Toyota and Ultimodule at the April 11 Sunnyvale City Council meeting.
Sunnyvale Mayor Ron Swegles will present commendation certificates to businesses that have received certification and Santa Clara County staff will present green business certificates to the Mayor for the Community Center’s certification.
The Community Center was certified in part because of the City’s efforts to reduce pollution through the use of environmentally-friendly cleaning products, its extensive recycling program, as well as its energy and water conservation efforts. Sunnyvale’s certified businesses likewise demonstrated their commitment to the environment through their outstanding waste reduction, pollution prevention and energy and water conservation programs.
